Simple, Clean, and Free

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5)

In this short passage, John gives us the full Gospel truth — brief, but complete. The Son of God is from the beginning, and everything that exists finds its meaning in Him. Nothing can be added to Jesus or taken away, for He is God, and He is one in spirit with His Father, who is God. These things are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, who is God, and there is no confusion or contradiction in Him — they are one. We comprehend these things, because we have seen and acknowledged the truth as presented to us in the Word - in Jesus. Therefore, we are lights in a dark world, and He has lit our lamps and set us before men and women to shine brightly as His witnesses. They will see our love and good works, and they will give glory to our God. The Lord has shown us the truth. We know, believe, and obey the truth He has revealed — and that truth is Jesus, the Son of God — the Word of God. 

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

Let’s Pray -  Lord, I have come to know the truth, to believe the truth, and to obey Your Word. Thank You for the clean and free life given to me when I believed. In Jesus alone, Amen.
