Everyone and everything on earth that pleases the Father does so according to the leading and power of the Spirit. That is why Jesus insisted His disciples wait before they went out to preach the Gospel - "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever . . ." (John 14:16) The "Helper" is God Himself, the Holy Spirit. Just as the Father and Son are God, so is the Spirit; and they are united in their determination to bring many sons and daughters to glory. Thank God in heaven for the ministry of the Holy Spirit here on earth!
The abiding presence of the Holy Spirit is the only difference between the children of God and all other religious people. Jesus says, (He is) the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:17) The power of the Holy Spirit is the substance of the victorious life, of spiritual vitality, health, holiness, and wholeness. We must never grieve the Spirit by suppressing, ignoring, or limiting Him in our lives and our fellowship. May we love in the Spirit, pray in the Spirit, sing in the Spirit, prophesy in the Spirit, and walk in the Holy Spirit given to us by God as a guarantee of our inheritance as children of the Most High! This is the purpose of every Christian; that we prove what it is to be Spirit-filled!
Let's Pray - Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Through Him and His love I am being perfected and prepared for eternity moment-by-moment. He is the greatest Gift I will ever receive. In Jesus, Amen.
