Obtaining God’s Favor

Now it came about on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace in front of the king’s rooms, and the king was sitting on his royal throne in the throne room, opposite the entrance to the palace. It happened when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king extended to Esther the golden scepter which was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter. (Esther 5:1, 2)

Prayer is the awesome privilege to go before the Father and speak to Him from our hearts. He is not like earthly kings who require appointments, pomp and circumstance, or endless protocol -- just come. The Bible is filled with encouragement for us to pray, because the God who loves us longs to speak with us about our lives. He is ever extending His "scepter" to us with an open heart to receive us when we come to Him in prayer.

You will find the rest and peace you so desire in the closet of prayer. Jesus promised that when you pray to God in secret, He will reward you openly (Matthew 6:4). Like Esther, the Lord will clothe you with the royal garments of righteousness, He will receive you, and He will answer your prayers because of His great love for you. So, come to the throne with the same confidence Esther displayed. The King is reaching out His hand to you!

Let’s PrayFather, You will find me believing You, trusting You, and praying to You, just as You have taught me. Hear my earnest plea and lead me in the everlasting way. In Jesus, Amen.
