Nothing Can Separate

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Nothing can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus. So, it does not matter what others do or say, whether they respect or disrespect me, thank me or use me, include or exclude me, honor or disdain me, bless or curse me. As long as I offer my body a living sacrifice to God each day and walk in the Spirit He gives, the Lord will receive me. That is the wisdom, the attitude, and the spiritual truth Paul is teaching here.

God's love completes us, and His grace is sufficient. It cannot be bested, out maneuvered, out worked, overwhelmed, or overcome — therefore, the battles and temptations we face cannot and will not separate us from the God who loves us. The Lord Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and earth, and all things exist for His pleasure and purpose. There is no one wiser, more powerful, or stronger than He. There is no time, realm, or circumstance where He is not God and He is not sovereign. We are His and we always will be, and nothing can snatch us from His hand. This the blessed assurance of those who have lost and found their lives in Jesus. We will never be separated from Him again — not by anyone or anything, ever. Amen.
