And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.
"Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:1-3)
If we allow, God will pepper our lives with blank spaces, times and seasons of stillness and quiet, times where you feel passed by and forgotten, overlooked and excluded, left out, left for dead. But for God’s man or woman, these are the most precious and opportune seasons where we learn to be small and humble in His sight, knowing He never leaves or forgets us or His promises to us.
What spirit will we harken to in those times? Will we serve Him, seek Him, wait on Him with patience and perseverance? Or will we take things in our own hands and make a way for ourselves?
Be sure to wait on God in these times — and be careful not to fill in God’s blanks.
Let’s Pray — Father, thank You for the patience and faith to be still, quiet, and satisfied while I wait on You. I have learned that You are good, and Your timing is perfect. Amen.
