Stand Your Watch

I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the LORD answered me and said:
"Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:1-3)

If we allow, God will pepper our lives with blank spaces, seasons of stillness and quiet, times where we feel passed by and forgotten, overlooked and excluded, and left out. But for God’s man or woman, these are precious and opportune seasons where we learn to be small and humble in His sight, knowing He never leaves or forgets us or His promises.

What spirit will you harken to in those times? Will you serve Him, seek Him, wait on Him with patience and perseverance? Or will you take things in your own hands and make a way for yourself?

Be sure to wait on God in these times, and be careful not to fill in God’s blanks.

Be still and know that I am God . . .

(Psalms 46:10a)

Let’s Pray Father, thank You for the patience and faith to be still, quiet, and satisfied while I wait on You. I have learned that You are good, and Your timing is perfect. Amen.
