Let Us Reason

“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)

Where have all the reasonable men gone? Where are the messages of repentance, sacrifice, loving our neighbor, the Cross of Jesus Christ, holiness, and the fullness of the Holy Spirit gone in the church? When did politics and prosperity become the main topic promoted from the platform? Where did our shepherds who feed the lambs go, and who replaced them with motivational speakers who use the Gospel as a prop for their entrepreneurship? Where are the prophets who are turning the hearts of the fathers back to the children? Where are the leaders who know how to bring opposing views to the table and moderate a constructive and honest conversation? Where are the intercessors who plead with the Lord to raise up His standard and pour out His Spirit afresh? Where can the Lord find someone, anyone, who will reason with Him? Where is the reasonable man?

We must reason with the Lord before it is too late, while His arms are still outstretched, and before we go any farther down the road toward judgment. Repentance and humility are required to enter into these talks. We have nothing else to offer! On the other hand, the Lord has already made provision for our forgiveness, our health and wholeness, our peace and safety, and our joy. Our sins will be wiped away by the Blood of His Son, Who lived a sinless and sacrificial life, died in our place, and rose in power and majesty that death could not hold down. Now He is seated at the right hand of the Father with all authority in His hand and the Word in His mouth – the same Word that echoes from Isaiah, imploring us to come to Him before night falls and it is too late.

“Come NOW, let us reason together . . .”

Let's Pray - Dear Father, please forgives for our selfish and unreasonable behavior and speech. May we remember we are the light of the world, and the light in us is Jesus Christ. We come to You on Your terms, and those terms are more than fair - - they are grace and favor. Thank You, Lord.

  1. Thanks to the Father for His abundance of grace and favor towards me thru out this entire year. It didn't come in the form I had imagined...nevertheless it was an abundance of an outpouring of His love. I know today God is bigger and God is faithful in ways I hadn't imagined. My sufferings brought me to a place of a greater knowledge and understanding of His love for me and I am experiencing how "The Truth" can set a person free as it is written in His Word. Nearing the ending of this year I am learning the essence of what real repentance is and looks like. Christ in me...Christ in me!!!! What gifts the Father has given unto us/me. He is becoming enough and more than enough ...as my reality. Every ounce of suffering has turned out to be more of a blessing for me. I am excited to be moving forward into this upcoming year. Thank you Pastor for teaching me how to walk in the ways that are pleasing unto the Lord. Thank you also Holy Spirit for guiding me every step of the way. Amen.
